5. Miss Esther HOY was born on 20 Feb 1786 in Greenlaw. She died in 1847. She was buried in 1847 in Preston.

Miss Esther HOY and Mr Thomas HASTIE were married on 28 May 1814 in Smailholm (Parish of). They had marriage banns published. Mr Thomas HASTIE was born before 1799. About 1814 he was a Labourer in Edrom (Parish of). He died in 1861 in Dunse. Miss Esther HOY and Mr Thomas HASTIE had the following children:

16	i.	Mr William HASTIE was born on 1 Sep 1816.
17	ii.	Miss Rachel HASTIE was born in 1808.
18	iii.	Mr John HASTIE was born in 1818. He died in 1821.
